  Vaccinations

Our vaccination protocol is based on AAHA recommendations and current research.

Vaccinations:

Dogs - Core

DHP-P:  8 weeks, repeat at 3-4 week intervals for a total of 3 vaccinations. 4th shot given 12 months after the 3rd shot.  Vaccinate every 3 years thereafter.

Rabies: 12 weeks.  2nd shot 12 months after first.  Every 3 years thereafter.

Dogs - Non-Core

Bordatella: For dogs in training, that are boarded or groomed. 9 weeks, 12 weeks, every year thereafter.

Lyme*: Recommended for all dogs that go outside.  16 weeks, 18-20 weeks, every year thereafter.

*A new vaccine called Nobivac® combines with parts of the original vaccine to offer almost 100% protection.  Uniquely designed to match the shifting physiology of Lyme Disease.

Feline - Core

FVRCP-C:  Kitten series FVRCP-C vaccines are boostered every 3 weeks until 16 weeks of age.  FVRCP-C vaccine is boostered in 12 months and then every 3 years

Rabies: 12 weeks.  2nd shot 12 months after first.  Every 3 years thereafter.

Feline - Non-Core

FELV: We recommend the Feline Leukemia Virus test and vaccination staring at 9 weeks of age.  Testing is required before vaccinations can be given.  This disease is spread through direct contact with an infected cat, so we recommend testing any cat before placing in a home with an existing cat.  After a negative test result the vaccination can be given: 2 doses 3-4 weeks apart the first year, then annual booster vaccinations.
